Telephone Occupational Health Assessments

During a face-to-face consultation an Occupational Health Professional has the opportunity for conducting some basic examinations or to pick up on body language and other visual clues. This is therefore our preferred method for conducting an Occupational Health Assessment. However a telephone consultation can be an extremely useful alternative and has several logistical advantages in so far as they can be arranged that much quicker, allows 'instant' access to a geographically spread out workforce, avoids ill employees having to attend a venue, eliminates travel and saves everybody time & money.

An Occupational Health Assessment relies heavily upon good questioning and gathering a robust medical history to form a judgement rather than detailed examinations, diagnostic tests and such like. Therefore structured telephone consultations can be a very valid and useful tool.

Our process (click here for details of normal process) for telephone consultations is essentially the same as for face-to-face examinations except the physical review is replaced with a telephone interview.  These assessments would normally be conducted by an Occupational Health Nurse Advisor.
