EVERWELL OCCUPATIONAL HEALTH

Workplace Skin Surveillance

Everwell offers an on-site skin surveillance service.  Everwell’s service is fully compliant with the Health Surveillance requirements of the COSHH regulations for products labelled R43 — ”may cause sensitisation by skin contact”.

Repeated exposure to certain substances or skin irritation can lead to dermatitis.  If the signs are detected early enough and corrective action is taken then the problem can be reduced or cured completely.  However if left untreated then the dermatitis can become irreversible and exposure to even a small amount of the problem substance can trigger a bad reaction.

Substances that can cause Occupational Dermatitis are:

· Epoxy Resins

· Latex (even ‘protective’ latex gloves!!)

· Rubber Chemicals

· Soaps & Cleaners

· Metalworking Fluids

· Cement

· Enzymes

· Wood

· Wet Work

Note: Solvents can increase the damage caused by these other sensitisers.

Everwell’s process typically takes 15-20 minutes per person.  This includes a review of a questionnaire (to be completed by each individual), the examination itself and advice on skin care.

This is one of a number of HSE/COSHH compliant medicals that Everwell can perform on your site (see Health Surveillance).  For more information contact us today.
